The Sun and Me

Bright shining sun,

Shining on me.

Lights up the world,

Lights up my day.

I dream of its color,

Yellow, orange, bright.

The sun is my heater,

My fire, my light.

I wish I could touch it,

Stay out there.

To see the sky, the earth,

The stars and the planets.

How beautiful the world is?

How beautiful is the day?

I can hate, I can love,

Yet still the sun will rise.

I can yell, I can scream,

Yet still the sun will rise.

I can pretend, I can ignore,

Yet still the sun will rise.

To warm my world,

To shine on me.

God Made Everything

Green mountains, green trees, green leaves

Were turned to gray because of you and me

We never thought that this world happen

But the world is slowly being broken.

Oh the life that we once had

Full of bliss and made us glad

Little by little were torn apart

Man, what are we doing

From the start?

Surely there's still time

to begin, to restore again

the beauty of Earth

that was given to us.

The Almighty God is the

maker of everything

So we should take care of it

before all that will be

"The Groaning World"

God personally designed and created the world 

Perfectly and declared wonderfully made

But what went wrong, that is the queztion?

Is it a process of deterioration?

Why the world groaning and truly suffering?

Everywhere you go people were dying  

Sicknesses and calamities we will experiencing, 

People were asking "what is happening"?

God cursed the ground so that man struggling

By the sweat of his brow to gain a living

Thorns and briars to men's labors adding

And driven from Gods presence is the result of disobeying

If the first man had not sinned

Mankind would never known suffering

Instead we will enjoy peace and harmony

And we never fall into tragedy

"Mother Nature"

Our nature is changing

It is like re-arranging

People are careless

And absolutely reckless

So, Mother Nature gave calamity

Example of this is the Tsunami

She can destroy buildings and any city

If we experience this, we shall be pity

If we always love the environment

We will not receive any punishment

Try to care and do something for nature

And the children will follow this in the future

The Small Key Part 2

 SETTING: The setting is in the farm


 CHARACTER: PEDRO BUHAY, SOLEDAD, DOCTOR, AUNT


Theme:" In life people do something to satisfy themselves even when they are fully aware of what the consequences of their actions will be."

POINT OF VIEW: Third person omnicient because the author used he and she.

SYMBOLISM: small key- It represents to first wife of Pedro Buhay who passed away of many years because she has a power to control Pedro by keeping of her old clothes.

 Large Key- It represents to Soledad because he has a power to burnt the clothes of the 1st wife of Pedro.

Farm_ it represents the feelings of Soledad to the 1st wife of Pedro.

ANALYSIS: 

The Small Key By: Paz Latorena

PLOT:

"The Small Key" is a short story by Philipino author Paz Latorena. It is about a woman named Soledad who is married to a man named Pedro Buhay. They live on a farm. One morning Soledad finds herself knowing that the farm will produce plenty but that she still had some inner feeling of discontent. She planned to mend some of her husband's shirts, which were in a locked trunk. Pedro took out from his pocket a string which held two keys, one large and shiny and one small and rusty. He gave Soledad the large key to his trunk and put the small key back in his jacket pocket. Since it was hot that morning, he removed his coat before leaving to work in the field. When he was gone, Soledad began to fold the jacket and the small key fell to the floor. It is obvious that Pedro values the small key while Soledad fears it. 

Soledad knows that the small key is a key to a different trunk. She tries to busy herself so that she will not think about what the smaller trunk contains, but she cannot stop thinking about it and reveals that the small trunk contains clothing that belonged to Pedro's first wife. She wonders why it is that he keeps her old clothing and why he seems to have a special feeling about them. She obviously fears that Pedro still loves his first wife even though she has been dead for many years by now. She reveals that she hates the things in the small trunk and worries that they will destroy the relationship between her and her husband. Despite her attempts to not think about the contents of the small trunk, Soledad opens it. At this point, Pedro returns home to find Soledad in bed supposedly with a fever. It turns out she does not. The next morning Pedro discovers a pile of ashes and half burnt clothing in the backyard. He realizes what Soledad has done and rushes to look in the trunk to confirm it. Soledad has indeed, burned his first wife's clothing. 

Pedro is angry and bitter that this has happened and he expects that Soleda will explain things later. He thinks to himself that he will forgive her because he loves her but that even if she did it out of love for him, it will always remain a matter of some resentment toward her for doing it.
